Nepal Drawn in Tough Group for Women’s Football at Asian Games
The Nepal women’s football team has been drawn into a complex group for the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China, from October 6-21.
Nepal is in Group D with Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Japan. Japan is the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, ranked 10th globally. Vietnam is ranked 32nd in the world, and Bangladesh is ranked 93rd.
Nepal has faced Bangladesh and Vietnam before, but this will be the first time the team has played Japan. The Nepali team must play its best football to advance to the knockout stage.
