Cristiano Ronaldo Scores Late Equalizer to Send Al Nassr to Arab Club Champions Knockout Stages

Al Nassr came from behind to draw 1-1 with Zamalek in their final Arab Club Champions Cup group stage match on Thursday, thanks to a late goal from Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Saudi club needed only a draw to secure their place in the knockout stages, but the Egyptian champions made them work hard for it. Zamalek took the lead in the 25th minute through Zizo, who converted a penalty after he was fouled in the box.
Al Nassr pressed for an equaliser and had several chances, but some good saves from Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal denied them. However, Ronaldo came up with the goods in the 87th minute, heading home a cross from Moussa Marega to level the scores.

The draw was enough to send Al Nassr to the knockout stages as group runners-up behind Al Shabab. Zamalek finished third in the group and will now compete in the Arab Club Champions Cup Plate competition.
Ronaldo’s goal was his second of the season in the Arab Club Champions Cup. The Portuguese superstar has now scored 800 goals in his career, making him the first player in history to reach that milestone.
Al Nassr will now face Al Ahly in the quarterfinals of the Arab Club Champions Cup. The tie’s first leg will be played in Riyadh on August 17, with the second leg in Cairo on August 24.
This was a crucial match for Al Nassr, and they came through it with flying colours. Ronaldo was once again the difference-maker, and he will be hoping to lead his team to even greater success in the knockout stages.
