Cristiano Ronaldo Leads Al Nassr to Arab Club Champions Cup Final
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a penalty kick and had a goal disallowed as Al Nassr defeated Iraqi champions Al-Shorta SC 1-0 in the semi-finals of the Arab Club Champions Cup on Wednesday.
The 38-year-old Ronaldo converted the penalty in the 75th minute after Sadio Mane was fouled in the box by Faisal Jasim Nafil Al Manaa.
Al Nassr were the better team throughout the game and deserved their victory. They had 64% possession and registered 15 shots to Al-Shorta’s six.
Ronaldo also had a goal disallowed in the first half following a close offside call.
The win means that Al Nassr will face Saudi opposition in the final on Saturday through either Al-Hilal or Al-Shabab.
Ronaldo has now scored in four consecutive games in the Arab Club Champions Cup, and he hopes to lead Al Nassr to their first title in the competition since 2000.
