Bellingham Scores Debut Goal as Real Madrid Beat Athletic Bilbao
Jude Bellingham made his Real Madrid debut in style, scoring the second goal in a 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on Saturday night.
The England international, who joined Real from Borussia Dortmund this summer, struck eight minutes before half-time to put the visitors in control. Rodrigo had given Real the lead in the 28th minute.
Bellingham, 19, was a constant threat throughout the game, and he showed maturity beyond his years in his performance. He was also solid defensively and helped Real keep a clean sheet.
The win was a perfect start to the season for Real under manager Carlo Ancelotti. They dominated possession and created several chances, while Bilbao offered little in attack.
Real Madrid’s other goalscorer, Rodrigo, also impressed. The Brazilian forward was a constant menace in the Bilbao penalty area, and he scored a well-taken goal in the first half.
