Anjan Bista Joins Jhapa FC as Marquee Player for Nepal Super League’s Second Edition

In a significant move ahead of the second edition of the Nepal Super League (NSL), Jhapa FC has made a high-profile signing by securing the services of national team forward Anjan Bista as their marquee player.
Thursday, the club officially announced this exciting development through social media channels. This marks Jhapa FC’s debut participation in the NSL, and they have yet to waste time in making a statement with the signing of Anjan Bista, a key player for Lalitpur City FC in the tournament’s previous edition.
Anjan’s prowess on the field was pivotal in securing the championship for his club (Church Boys United) during their debut season, earning them a coveted spot in the A-division league.
The NSL’s second edition is set to kick off on November 24th, with an opening match between Kathmandu Razors and Sporting Ilam FC. The action-packed tournament will culminate with the final game scheduled for December 30th.

It’s worth noting that the organizer, Nepal Sports and Event Management Pvt Ltd, had initially selected players for ten teams but faced delays in the league’s commencement. Many draft players had relocated abroad in the interim, leading to the necessity of a fresh auction, which is now scheduled for September 30th.
As the tournament approaches, the NSL will see nine teams in action following the withdrawal of Biratnagar City FC, which participated in the last season. The lineup includes the returning champion Kathmandu, the runners-up Dhangadhi FC, FC Chitwan, Pokhara Thunders, Lalitpur City FC, Butwal-Lumbini FC, along with newcomers Ilam FC, Birgunj United FC, and now, the formidable Jhapa FC. Excitement is building as fans eagerly await the start of what promises to be a thrilling NSL season.
