Nepal holds Bangladesh to a 1-1 draw in Asian Games women’s football.


HANGZHOU, China – Nepal held Bangladesh to a 1-1 draw in their final match of the 19th Asian Games women’s football at the Wenzhou Sports Center Stadium on Thursday.
Sabina Khatun gave Bangladesh the lead in the 44th minute, but Rekha Poudel equalized for Nepal in the 82nd minute.
The result leaves both teams winless in the tournament.
Nepal had lost their first two matches to Vietnam and Japan, while Japan and Vietnam had heavily defeated Bangladesh.
Despite the disappointing result, Nepal’s performance against Bangladesh significantly improved from their previous two matches.
Nepal created many chances throughout the game, and they were finally rewarded for their efforts when Poudel equalized with a well-taken goal.
Bangladesh also had their chances, and they could have won the game in the dying minutes when Khatun hit the post.
Overall, it was a fair result between the two teams, who were evenly matched.
