Exciting Wins for Shillong Lajong FC and Territorial Army in Manebhanjyang Gold Cup

Shillong Lajong FC and Territorial Army Darjeeling won their respective matches in the seventh Manebhanjyang Gold Cup.
In the day’s first match, Shilong defeated home team Manebhanjyang FC by 2-1. Shilong took the lead in the 15th minute through Sano and doubled their advantage in the 23rd minute through Wadajit. Manebhanjyang pulled one back in the 60th minute through Captain Taksik Bhutia, but it was too late.
In the day’s second match, Territorial Army Darjeeling defeated Rolling Club Dhulabari Jhapa by 3-0. The first half ended in a goalless draw, but the Army scored three goals in the second half to seal the victory. Lakpa Tamang opened the scoring for the Army in the 48th minute and doubled his tally in the 54th minute. S. Kepgen scored the Army’s third goal in the 65th minute.

The quarterfinal matches of the tournament will start on Sunday. BSK Jalpaiguri and Dahalsingpara Sports Academy Dooars will meet in the first quarterfinal, and Chand FC Tindharia and Georgian FC Kalimpong will meet in the second quarterfinal match.
5 clubs from Nepal and 11 from India are participating in the tournament. The competition winner will get 8 lakh rupees (INR 5 lakh), and the runner-up will get 4 lakh (INR 2 lakh 50 thousand). The final match will be held on October 15.
