Football legend Didier Drogba is poised to grace the Nepal Super League (NSL), adding a touch of global glamour to the highly anticipated sporting event. The Nepal Sports and Event Management, the organizing body behind the NSL, officially announced Drogba’s upcoming visit via social media, sending shockwaves of excitement among football enthusiasts nationwide.
In a heartwarming gesture, the NSL and the Didier Drogba Foundation have pledged to contribute 20 lakh rupees to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, dedicated to supporting the victims of the Jajarkot earthquake. This philanthropic act underscores the league’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond the football field, extending its reach to those in need.

The second edition of the Nepal Super League is scheduled to kick off on November 24 and run through to December 30, promising fans an electrifying display of top-tier football action. Despite the withdrawal of last season’s participant, Biratnagar City FC, this season will witness an expanded field of nine teams, further intensifying the competitive spirit.
The established six teams from the previous edition, including the reigning champions Kathmandu and runners-up Dhangadhi FC, will be joined by a fresh wave of contenders. FC Chitwan, Pokhara Thunders, Lalitpur City FC, and Butwal Lumbini FC are all set to make their mark, bringing new energy and excitement to the league. Additionally, three brand-new teams, Ilam FC, Birgunj United FC, and Jhapa FC, are poised to enter the fray, further elevating the level of competition in this much-anticipated event.
With international football icon Didier Drogba gracing the event, the Nepal Super League is set to captivate fans with its thrilling matches, unwavering commitment to social responsibility, and the promise of a truly unforgettable footballing experience.
