Kathmandu Razors Soar to Victory in Nepal Super League Opener

KATHMANDU, Nepal – In a thrilling start to the second season of the Nepal Super League (NSL), Kathmandu Razors FC emerged victorious, securing a narrow 1-0 win over the debutants Sporting Ilam FC. The match, held at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu, showcased the Razors’ experience and prowess as they took control of the game from the outset.

The opening minutes saw both teams exchanging chances, with Kathmandu’s Shokhrukh testing Ilam’s goalkeeper Bikesh Kuthu with a free-kick in the fifth minute. Ilam retaliated with Amath Ndav’s long-distance shot, which was expertly saved by Kathmandu’s goalkeeper Abhishek Baral.

The Razors continued to press forward, and their persistence paid off in the 51st minute when Rajiv Lopchan broke the deadlock. Following Shokhrukh’s corner, Rajiv’s backheel shot proved too hot for Bikesh to handle, deflecting into the net and giving Kathmandu the lead.

Ilam attempted to level the score with Fode Kamara’s ambitious long-range effort in the 81st minute, sailing wide. However, Kathmandu’s defence held firm, securing their first victory of the season.

The Razors’ experience and composure proved decisive in the opening match, setting the stage for an exciting NSL season ahead.
