Arjundhara and Buddhashanti Secure Spots in Final

Buddhashanti Rural Municipality’s Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital booked its place in the finals of the inaugural inter-municipal district-level football tournament in a commanding fashion. The team’s triumph was fueled by a sensational four-goal performance from Babin Bohora, who further solidified his position as the competition’s top scorer with 12 goals.

In a dominant display against Jhapa Rural Municipality during today’s first semi-final clash, Buddhashanti controlled the game’s tempo from the outset. Bohora etched his name on the scoresheet in the 29th and 43rd minutes, effectively giving his team a comfortable lead heading into the break.

Jhapa managed to pull one back through Anish Khadka’s strike in the 40th minute. Still, Bohora quickly responded with his third goal in the 64th minute, effectively extinguishing any hopes of a comeback from Jhapa.

Bohora’s fourth and final goal of the match arrived in the 75th minute, putting the final nail in Jhapa’s coffin and securing a 5-1 victory for Buddhashanti.

The tournament organisers recognised Bohora’s exceptional performance, earning him the Player of the Match title. He received a cash prize 2000 and a trophy from Gold Cup President Dipesh Dhakal, Chief Guest Koshi State Sports Development Board Member Secretary Hansraj Wagle, Social Worker Ganga Prasad Oli, and other dignitaries.

The second semi-final saw Arjundhara Municipality overcome a resilient Mechinagar Municipality by a scoreline of 3-1. The first half was a tightly contested affair, with both teams failing to break the deadlock.

However, Arjundhara emerged from the tunnel with renewed purpose in the second half. Nikhil Tamang restored parity in the 39th minute, cancelling Ricky Shrestha’s early opener for Mechinagar.

Rajesh Dahal then took centre stage for Arjundhara, scoring two goals in the 52nd and 71st minutes to power his team to victory and a place in the final against Buddhashanti.

Dahal’s impressive display earned him the Player of the Match award, along with a cash prize of 2000 and a trophy presented by Gold Cup President Dipesh Dhakal, Chief Guest Hemraj Dhakal, Mayors of Mechinagar and Arjundhara, and social worker Ganga Prasad Oli.

The stage is now set for a thrilling final between Buddhashanti and Arjundhara on November 24 at 2 PM. The tournament’s General Secretary, Jeevan Kumar Shrestha, has confirmed that the winner will be awarded a cash prize of 3 lakh, along with a trophy, medals, and a certificate.
