Kajal’s Unbeaten 41 Guides Koshi Province to Chase Down Target
Under the Kathmandu lights, Koshi Province defied the odds to chase down an 88-run target at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Facing early wobbles after losing a captain’s wickets, Koshi’s batting arsenal dug deep, with Kajal Shrestha’s unbeaten 41 and Apsari Begam’s contributing 41 leading the charge. The win, clinched in 18.1 overs, was a testament to their grit and tactical cunning.
Shrestha, renowned for her ice-cold temperament, anchored the chase with a composed knock, expertly picking the gaps and finding the boundaries. Begam, known for her explosive hitting, provided the necessary impetus early on, setting the platform for Shrestha to finish the job.
Ashmina Karmacharya, the skipper, led by example and chipped in with 24 valuable runs. Her batting partner, Yasoda Bista, also impressed, with 41 runs off the opposition. Koshi’s bowling kept the pressure on, restricting Bagmati to 88 runs after grabbing eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Apsari Begam and Sabnam Rai chipped in with two wickets each, while Sangita Rai grabbed one. This commanding win follows Koshi’s dominant display in the first match against Karnali, where they skittled their opponents for 33 runs and secured a 10-wicket victory.
