APF Steamrolls Koshi, Reigns Supreme in PM Cup T20!
Kathmandu, Nepal: The Nepal APF Club proved why they’re the team to beat in the Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s T20, crushing Koshi Pradesh by eight dominant wickets at Mulpani Cricket Ground on Monday. This commanding victory extends their win streak to four, leaving them perched atop the leaderboard with a perfect record and eight points. Koshi, tasting their first defeat, still stood firm with six points.
APF chased down Koshi’s modest 85 ruthlessly, reaching the target in a mere 17.3 overs with only two wickets down. Indu Barma dazzled with an unbeaten 36, while Jyoti Pandey (24) and Captain Sita Rana Magar (18) provided valuable contributions. Roma Thapa added a quick 10 to seal the deal. Alisha Khadia and Nisha Shah bagged one wicket each for Koshi, but their efforts proved a mere consolation.
Earlier, Koshi, choosing to bat, stumbled to 84/2 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Rubeena Chhetri anchored the innings with a commanding 41, while Kajal Shrestha’s unbeaten 25 and Apsari Begum’s 13 provided some support. The opening duo of Chhetri and Shrestha put up a promising 63-run partnership before APF’s bowling attack tightened the screws. Sonu Khadka and Karuna Bhandari picked up one wicket apiece, effectively stifling Koshi’s late charge.
APF’s relentless win streak sends a chilling message to their rivals – this trophy has their name on it. But Koshi’s spirited showing proves the competition is far from over.
