Nepal is set to Hosts 6th SAFF Women’s U-16 Championship
The sixth edition of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s U-16 Championship will be held in Nepal.
On Sunday, SAFf informed through its Facebook page that the competition will be held from March 1 to 10th at Chyasal Stadium in Lalitpur.
SAFF has also published the match schedule along with the information. The inaugural match of the four-nation tournament will be between India and Bhutan. Nepal will compete against Bangladesh in its first match on March 2nd. Nepal is scheduled to play Bhutan on the 4th and will face India on the 7th in the final game of the league stage.
The previous tournament was organized under the name of U-15 and U-17. Nepal won the title two years ago. Russia’s visiting team became the champion in the tournament’s last edition.
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is conducting an open selection to build a team for the tournament.
