Jhapa Gold Cup Roars Back with Bigger Prize Pool, Diverse Roster, and a Sparkling New Trophy
Birtamode, Nepal – Football fever hit a new high in Jhapa today as the official roster and trophy for the Arna Sixth Jhapa Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament were unveiled in a grand ceremony at the Domalal Rajbanshi Stadium.
Under the leadership of President Binod Basnet, the prestigious tournament returns bigger and better than ever, boasting a whopping NRs 13 lakh for the champions and featuring 10 top-tier teams vying for glory. The star-studded lineup includes heavyweights like Machhindra FC, Tribhuvan Army FC, APF FC, Nepal Police Club, League Champion Church Boys United, Sankata Club and five times league champion NRT, the local favourites, Jhapa 11 FC.
But this edition isn’t just about established powerhouses. Marking a bold move, the Jhapa Gold Cup welcomes two exciting newcomers, Bagmati Yuva Club from Sarlahi and Anfa Makwanpur from Hetauda. This inclusion opens the door for fresh talent and promises to excite the electrifying atmosphere.
The unveiling ceremony saw the presence of footballing dignitaries like Jhapa District Football Association President Bhagirath Ale Mama, Gold Cup Patron and Jhapa 11 FC President Jalkumar Gurung, and National Football Team Assistant Coach Prabesh Katwal.
