The Jhapa Sports Award 2079 has announced its nominees, creating a buzz in the district’s sporting scene. The Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) Jhapa revealed the names at a press conference in Birtamod.

This year marks the fifth edition of the awards. According to Chiranjibi Ghimire, coordinator of the selection committee, a meticulous selection process identified three nominees in each of five categories. A separate popular vote will decide each category’s People’s Choice Award nominee.

Awards and Ceremony Details

Winners of the Player of the Year categories (Male and female) will receive a cash prize of 100,000 rupees and a trophy. Youth Player of the Year, The People’s Choice Player, and Best Coach will each receive 25,000 rupees and a trophy. Details of the Special Achievement Award, Best Sports Journalist Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award will be revealed during the ceremony. Public voting for the People’s Choice Award will be decided based on NSJF Jhapa Facebook page voting.

The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, Chait 29th, at the Sai Party Palace in Birtamode City Center.
