Koshi Pradesh’s Winless Streak Extends in Lopsided Loss to Karnali Pradesh

Kathmandu: Koshi Pradesh’s woes in the Bir Ganeshman Singh Twenty20 National Cricket Tournament continued on Thursday, as Karnali Pradesh comprehensively outplayed them at the Mulpani Cricket Ground. This marks their sixth consecutive defeat in the tournament, leaving their playoff hopes hanging by a thread.

Dominant Karnali Seal Easy Victory

On the other hand, Karnali cruised to a comfortable victory, chasing down Koshi’s below-par total of 94 runs with a whopping 6.3 overs to spare and five wickets remaining. Opener Bipin Shahi led the charge with a fluent 38, ably supported by Manish Thapa (27) and Arjun Gharti (25), who ensured a dominant performance with the bat.

Koshi’s Batting Woes Continue

Earlier, electing to bat first, Koshi’s batting woes continued as they were skittled out for a mere 93 runs in 19.3 overs. Minash Thapa’s lone fight of 35 runs wasn’t enough to salvage the innings, with Dipesh Kandel (25) and Saujan Ghimire (18) being the only other batsmen to reach double digits.

Karnali’s Bowling Attack Wreaks Havoc

Karnali’s bowling attack was sharp throughout the innings, with Dipendra Rawat and Prakash Jaisi claiming three wickets. Dinesh Adhikari and Bipin Sharma provided valuable support with two wickets and one wicket. Despite a spirited fightback with the ball from Deepesh Kandel (3 wickets) and Shravan Yadav (2 wickets), Koshi could not prevent a humiliating defeat.
