Mofussil Clubs Celebrate Promotions to B Division!
Kathmandu, Nepal – Two exciting Mofussil clubs, RC 32 Football Academy and Bagmati Yuva Club, have secured promotion to the prestigious ‘B’ Division League, marking a significant milestone in their journeys.
The duo’s rise to the ‘B’ Division comes after a dominant performance in the Shahid Smarak ‘C’ Division League. While both teams have one remaining match to play, their promotion was confirmed following RC 32’s 2-1 defeat to Pulchok Sports Club Sanepa on Tuesday.
Hailing from Sarlahi, Bagmati Yuva Club currently sits atop the standings with a formidable 26 points from 11 matches. They have two more opportunities to add to their tally before the season concludes. RC 32, representing Surkhet, has also impressed, amassing 23 points from 12 matches. Notably, this is the first time either club has achieved promotion to the ‘B’ Division. While Bagmati achieved this feat in a single season, RC 32 has battled it out in the ‘C’ Division for two years, showcasing their dedication and improvement.
While RC 32’s title hopes were dashed after their loss to Pulchok, their promotion remains a testament to their resilience. It’s worth noting that the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) even managed to secure their promotion despite initially deducting four points due to penalties in two matches where RC 32 allegedly fielded ineligible players. ANFA later overturned these penalties, allowing RC 32 to claim their place in the ‘B’ Division rightfully.
This news signifies a positive development for Mofussil football in Nepal. The success of RC 32 and Bagmati Yuva Club will undoubtedly inspire other regional clubs and contribute to the sport’s overall growth in the country.
