Spain Stun with Dominant Euro 2024 Opener against Croatia.

Kathmandu—Spain made a grand start in the Euro 2024 opener. Three-time champions Spain showed no mercy against Croatia, winning 3-0 in a match played at the Olympia Stadium on Saturday.
The Spanish team opened the tally with the help of Alvaro Morata, Fabian Luiz and Dani Carvajal. Lamine Yamal, aged sixteen, was the youngest footballer to come to the limelight. He wrote his name in football history and was the youngest player in the European Championship.

The Spanish attack clicked early as part of an ambitious approach to the opposing teams. Captain Alvaro Morata opened the scoring in the 29th minute, scoring from a magnificent ball by Fabian Ruiz. Three minutes later, Fabian doubled the lead.

Thus, the scoreline was maintained, albeit for Croatia’s drawn-out efforts in the second half. This emphatic victory moved Spain to the top of Group B alongside Italy, which claimed victory on the same day. It is a winner-takes-all scenario, whereby only the first two teams advance to the next round from each group, as the two teams sit on three points each.

This may prove a tough task, especially for Croatia, which is on a low start after these results. They face Albania in the next game on June 19th, which will be key to keeping the tournament going for them. However, the most exciting game seems to be approaching on June 21st when Spain will play against Italy, and one can wonder which team will claim the victory of being the group winner.
