La Roja March On with Dramatic Win Over France
Munich, Germany – Spain sealed a spot in the final of Euro 2024 following their pulsating 2-1 victory over France here at the Allianz Arena. Lamin Yamal and Dani Olmo were the heroes for Luis de la Fuente’s side as they immediately cancelled the early lead to secure a hard-fought win.
France, led by the formidable Kylian Mbappe, initially took the lead as Randal Kolo Muani scored a header in the ninth minute. However, Spain’s response was a testament to their youthful energy, with 16-year-old Lamin Yamal becoming the youngest scorer in European Championship history with a stunning long-range effort. Dani Olmo’s powerful shot, which deflected off Jules Kounde, completed the comeback just four minutes later.
The second half became a tactical chess game, and neither team wanted to give away any equalizer. This win will keep La Roja on course for a 4th European crown, having won earlier in 1964, 2008, and 2012.
Their opponents in the final, set to take place in Berlin on July 14th, will be determined tonight as England takes on the Netherlands in the other semi-final match.
