Epic Showdown in NSL as Lalitpur and Pokhara Settle for a Draw

In a pulsating encounter at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, Pokhara Thunders and Lalitpur City FC played out a hard-fought draw, showcasing their offensive prowess but ultimately settling for a share of the spoils.

The match commenced frenetically, with both teams launching a barrage of attacks. Pokhara’s Moses Twam nearly broke the deadlock in the sixth minute, but his effort struck the crossbar. Lalitpur responded with a flurry of their chances, but Papa Ibo Kebe and Omolaja Kareem failed to capitalize on promising opportunities.

The second half mirrored the intensity of the first, with both teams creating opportunities to snatch a victory. Sanjit Rai’s cross for Pokhara went begging, while Dinesh Rajbanshi’s free-kick failed to trouble Lalitpur goalkeeper Jeffery Willy Marcel.

Both teams had chances to snatch a dramatic winner in the dying minutes. Marcel thwarted Ayush Ghalan’s skilful dribble and shot for Pokhara, while Joe’s powerful strike for Lalitpur narrowly missed the target.

The draw leaves Lalitpur at the top of the Nepal Super League (NSL) standings with four points from two matches, while Pokhara occupies the third spot with the same number of points. The result also highlights the competitive nature of the NSL, with every team capable of challenging for the title.
