Madhesh Province Claims KP Oli Cup Twenty20 Title with Thrilling Victory over Tribhuvan Army Club
In a nail-biting final match held at Pokhara Stadium on Friday, Madhesh Province emerged victorious over Tribhuvan Army Club to clinch the coveted KP Oli Cup Twenty20 tournament title. The game was a testament to both teams’ resilience and determination, but Madhesh Province ultimately emerged victorious, securing an 11-run victory.
Madhesh Province, led by the exceptional all-round performance of their captain, Harishankar Shah, set a challenging target of 136 runs for Tribhuvan Army Club to chase down. Shah’s stellar bowling performance, in which he claimed four crucial wickets, proved to be a decisive factor in the match. Supported by Pradeep Paswan and Pratik Yadav, who each secured two and one wickets, respectively, Madhesh Province effectively restricted Tribhuvan Army Club’s batting prowess.

Despite a valiant effort from Tribhuvan Army Club, led by Captain Binod Bhandari’s 32 runs, they fell short of their target, scoring only 124 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Bhim Sarki, Sompal Kami, and Santosh Karki contributed notable scores of 22, 16 not out, and 16 runs, respectively, but their efforts were insufficient to overturn the deficit.
Bishal Patel played a pivotal role in Madhesh Province’s innings, contributing an unbeaten 49 runs off 32 balls, including three fours and a six. Harishankar Shah, Himanshu Dutt, and Bishal Shusling also made valuable contributions with 27, 14, and 10 runs, respectively. Bivek Yadav and Shahab Alam were the standouts for Tribhuvan Army Club’s bowling attack, each claiming three wickets, while Sompal Kami and Basir Ahmed chipped in with one wicket each.
