Mechinagar and Bhadrapur enter the KO stage.

Bhadrapur, Jhapa – Mechinagar Municipality emerged as the triumphant victors of Group C in the ongoing Om Sai Pathivara Hospital First Inter-Municipal District level Football Tournament, held in Bhadrapur, Jhapa. Their commanding performance throughout the league stage, culminating in a decisive victory against Kachankawal today, secured their place in the knockout stage.

Mechinagar’s Dominant Display

Mechinagar’s dominance in Group C was evident from the outset. They asserted their authority from the first match, showcasing remarkable skill and strategy to win all three league-stage encounters. Their unwavering determination and exceptional talent were the driving forces behind their success.

Niraj Karki, Mechinagar’s star performer, played a pivotal role in their victory, contributing crucial goals in the sixth and 16th minutes. Sandesh Khawas sealed the team’s triumph with a decisive goal in the 61st minute. Karki’s outstanding contributions were rightly recognized, earning him the coveted ‘Player of the Match’ title and a cash prize of two thousand and a trophy.

Bhadrapur Secures Spot in KO Stage

Bhadrapur municipality also secured their spot in the knockout stage, claiming the runner-up position in Group C. Despite facing a resilient Bahradashi Rural Municipality team, Bhadrapur’s strategic approach and calculated moves propelled them forward. A 2-0 goal difference marked their victory over Bahradashi. Udesh Kamati’s goal in the 32nd minute provided the initial momentum, and Niwang Limbu’s goal in the 56th minute solidified their position in the group. Kamati’s exceptional performance earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ award, accompanied by a cash prize of two thousand and a trophy.

The stakes are high as the tournament progresses, with the ultimate champion set to receive a cash prize of 3 lakh, along with a trophy, medal, and certificate. The runner-up will not be left empty-handed, earning 2 lakh in cash and a trophy, medal, and certification.

Individual excellence will also be recognized, with the Player of the match for each game receiving a cash prize of Rs 2,000. Additionally, awards for the best goalkeeper, best coach, top scorer, and budding Player will include a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a trophy and medal.

The tournament, designed to foster football talent in Jhapa, is estimated to incur an expense of 80 lakh rupees.
