Kathmandu Razors Roar Back to Conquer Pokhara Thunders in NSL Thriller

Kathmandu, Nepal – In a pulsating encounter that went down to the wire, former champions Kathmandu Razors staged a remarkable comeback to snatch a 2-1 victory from Pokhara Thunders in the Nepal Super League (NSL) on Monday.

The contest played at the electric Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, saw Kathmandu overcome an initial deficit to claim all three points, thanks to crucial goals from Enkenguy Junior and Shokhrukh. While Pokhara’s lone goal through Ayush Ghalan proved insufficient, the result propelled Kathmandu to third place with a revitalized campaign.

The first half was tense, with both sides locked in a tactical battle. Pokhara, however, squandered two golden opportunities to break the deadlock. Franklin Koyete Tala’s header flew wide, while Kathmandu Anjan Rai deflected Moses Tum’s shot. Kathmandu responded with a free-kick from Shokhrukh M, but Pokhara keeper Priso Njanga stood tall to deny him.

The second half witnessed a flurry of action, with Pokhara breaking the deadlock in the 59th minute. Ayush Ghalan capitalized on a rebound after Anjal Rai parried Stefan Honor’s shot, sending the stadium into a frenzy.

Kathmandu refused to give up, and their persistence paid off in the 82nd minute when Enkenguy Jr. connected with Dipesh Gurung’s pass to draw level. The drama escalated further in injury time as Shokhrukh unleashed a stunning long-range strike that beat Priso and sent the Kathmandu faithful into euphoria.

This dramatic victory propelled Kathmandu to third in the table and left a lasting impression on the NSL landscape. The resilience and fighting spirit displayed by the Razors bodes well for their future endeavours, while Pokhara will look to bounce back from this setback and continue their challenge for the top spot.
