Dominant Sudurpaschim and Gritty Bagmati Extend Winning Streaks in PM Cup T20

Kathmandu, Nepal: Champions keep winning, and that’s precisely what Sudurpaschim and Bagmati Province did on Sunday in the Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s Twenty20, posting their second consecutive victory and leaving their mark on the tournament.

Sudurpaschim’s Kabita Joshi Show Steals the Show:

At Kirtipur’s TU Cricket Ground, Sudurpaschim turned on the style, crushing Karnali by 81 runs. The show’s star was Kabita Joshi, who sizzled with an unbeaten 78 off 50 balls, peppering the scorecard with 10 fours and a six. Her late-innings partnership of 84 with Rewati Dhami propelled Sudurpaschim to a commanding 151/4. Despite Tirshana Bishwakarma’s 28 for Karnali, their chase floundered, ending at a meagre 70/9. Janaki Thapa (3 wickets) led Sudurpaschim’s potent bowling attack, ably supported by Kabita Joshi (2 wickets) and Manisha Chaudhary (1 wicket).

Bagmati Digs Deep to Overcome Gandaki Challenge:

Meanwhile, at Mulpani Cricket Ground (Upper), Bagmati showed grit and determination to edge past Gandaki in a nail-biting encounter. Chasing 113, they lost six wickets but reached the target in 18.4 overs thanks to Yashoda Bista’s unbeaten 39 and contributions from Helisha Gurung (20) and Soni Pakhrin (17). For Gandaki, Anjali Bishwakarma’s 32 and 28-run knocks from Suman Khatiwada and Simana KC weren’t enough, as Bagmati’s Karisma Gurung, Manisha Upadhyaya, and captain Ashmina Karmacharya each picked up a wicket.

The Heat is On:

These victories solidify Sudurpaschim and Bagmati’s positions as serious contenders for the title. With APF and Koshi also registering emphatic wins in their respective matches, the competition at the top is heating up. Every game promises a thrilling battle, making the PM Cup T20 an edge-of-the-seat spectacle for Nepali cricket fans.
