Nepal Injects Youthful Spark, Aims for Success in World Cup Qualifier with Revamped Squad

Nepal Cricket has turned over a new leaf, injecting a dose of youthful exuberance into their squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup League-2 triangular series. Rising stars Anil Shah and Dev Khanal have earned their stripes, impressing selectors with their scintillating performances in the recent Canada series.

The duo replaces Rijan Dhakal and Arjun Saud, marking a strategic shift towards a more dynamic batting line-up. Shah, a talented opener, brings aggression and flair to the top order, while Khanal, a seasoned middle-order batsman, boasts an impressive track record of anchoring innings.

The return of experienced all-rounders Dipendra Singh Airee, Karan KC, and Gulsan Jha bolsters Nepal’s bowling attack and adds valuable depth to the squad. However, Airee will miss the initial match due to his ongoing commitment with the Gulf Giants in the UAE’s International League Twenty20.

Captain Rohit Kumar Poudel leads a hungry team eager to make their mark. Their campaign starts against Namibia on February 27th, followed by a crucial clash with the Netherlands on February 28th. The competition heats up with two more Namibia vs Netherlands clashes before Nepal takes on Namibia again on March 1st. The final match sees Nepal pitted against the Netherlands on March 2nd.All eyes will be glued to the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur as the action unfolds, with matches starting at 9:15 am.
