Jhapa, Nepal – Excitement crackles in the air as the 6th edition of the prestigious Jhapa Gold Cup football tournament approaches. A recent strategic meeting between the organizing committee and the District Football Association of Jhapa (DFA,Jhapa) solidified the collaborative spirit driving this highly anticipated event.

Chairman Binod Basnet led the charge and presented a progress report emphasizing a “fair financial project” as the foundation for success. Football Association of Jhapa was spearheaded by Vice President Manesh Dahal. In solidarity, General Secretary Sundar Basnet of the DFA Jhapa offered warm congratulations and underscored the importance of meticulous financial management and event promotion.

Collaboration was a recurring theme, with both sides highlighting its significance. Gajendra Poudel, the organizing committee’s General Secretary, reiterated this sentiment, stressing the need for unified efforts. The DFA Jhapa, a longstanding technical partner since the tournament’s inception in 2072 BS, holds a crucial role. Notably, they hosted the inaugural event and continue to contribute significantly. Bhagirath Ale Mama, a prominent figure within the District Football Association, has played an instrumental role as the tournament’s match coordinator, contributing considerably to its smooth operation.

As the countdown begins for the much-anticipated 6th edition, scheduled to kick off on the 19th of Falgun, the stage is set for an exhilarating clash featuring ten elite teams. The collaborative spirit and shared enthusiasm between the organizing committee and the District Football Association Jhapa underscore the commitment to making this edition of the Jhapa Gold Cup a resounding success.
