This latest setback deals a hammer blow to their Bundesliga title aspirations, sending them crashing down to second place with 50 points from 22 matches. The gap to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen now stands at a daunting eight points, leaving Tuchel’s side staring down the barrel of a potentially trophyless season.
