Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: Nepal’s quest for their first-ever WAFF Women’s Championship title gained momentum today as they stormed past Palestine 4-0 to secure Group B supremacy and book their place in the semi-finals. This victory marks the culmination of a dominant group stage campaign for the Himalayan nation, who have not conceded a single goal and notched up a staggering 13 goals in just three matches.
The unstoppable Sabitra Bhandari led the charge and bagged a brace to take her tournament tally to a remarkable eight goals. The experienced campaigner opened the scoring in the 41st minute, showcasing her predatory instincts in the box. Rekha Paudel doubled Nepal’s lead in the 60th minute with a clinical finish, sending the Nepali faithful into a frenzy. Bhandari wasn’t done yet, adding another goal to her name in the 80th minute, effectively putting the game beyond doubt.
