Kathmandu, Nepal—In a dramatic display of comebacks and unwavering determination, the 8th RBB-NVA Women’s and Men’s Volleyball Championship concluded with a bang this Saturday. The National Sports Council hall in Tripureshwar echoed with cheers as Help Nepal Sports Club successfully defended its men’s title. At the same time, Everest Volleyball Club etched its name in history with a stunning upset victory in the women’s category.

Help Nepal found themselves in a nail-biter against the formidable Tribhuvan Army Club in the men’s finals. After dropping the first set 20-25, they showcased their championship pedigree, clawing their way back with thrilling wins (26-25, 23-25, 29-27, 22-20). This seesaw battle cemented Help Nepal’s dominance for a second consecutive year.

The women’s final provided its share of drama. Everest Volleyball Club, hungry for their first national title, was down 19-25 in the opening set against the seasoned Police squad. However, they refused to back down, storming back to win three straight sets (25-22, 25-18, 25-19) and secure a historic victory.

Both champions were well-deserving of their accolades. Help Nepal and Everest Volleyball Club were awarded a hefty 5 lakh rupees alongside trophies, medals, and certificates. Runners-up Tribhuvan Army Club and Police received 2 lakh rupees for their valiant efforts.

The path to glory wasn’t a cakewalk for any team. The likes of Gandaki Province and Nepal Police Club in the men’s division and APF in the women’s category all displayed exceptional talent, setting the stage for a fiercely competitive championship.

APF secured the women’s bronze medal with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over New Diamond, while Police emerged victorious in the men’s third-place playoff against Gandaki Pradesh (3-0). Both teams were awarded 1 lakh 25 thousand rupees for their commendable performances.

The 8th RBB-NVA Volleyball Championship testified to the depth of talent in Nepali volleyball. With thrilling comebacks, nail-biting finishes, and a historic upset, the tournament provided a glimpse into the sport’s bright future in the country.
