Tribhuvan Army FC Draws 1-1 with Delhi FC in Durand Cup

Tribhuvan Army FC opened their Durand Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Delhi FC at the Sai Center Stadium in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.

The Army took the lead in the 39th minute through Dinesh Henjan, but Girik equalized for Delhi in the 88th minute to secure a share of the spoils.

The draw leaves Tribhuvan Army FC with one point from their opening game, while Delhi FC has two points from two matches.

Tribhuvan Army FC will face Chennai FC on Monday in their second group game.

Dinesh Henjan Gives Army the Lead

Tribhuvan Army FC started the game brightly, creating several early chances. In the 10th minute, Kamal Bahadur Thapa fired a shot just wide of the post, and a few minutes later, Dinesh Henjan saw his header saved by Delhi goalkeeper Bishal Kaith.

The Army finally broke the deadlock in the 39th minute when Dinesh Henjan converted a cross from Kamal Bahadur Thapa. Dinesh Henjan got in front of his marker and directed the ball past Kaith to give the Army a 1-0 lead.

Girik Equalizes for Delhi

Delhi FC came out firing in the second half and were soon level. In the 55th minute, Girik cut inside from the left and fired a shot past the Army goalkeeper to make it 1-1.

The game went back and forth in the second half, but neither side could find a winner. Ultimately, the match finished 1-1, a fair result for both teams.

Tribhuvan Army FC Face Chennai FC Next

Tribhuvan Army FC will face Chennai FC on Monday in their second group game. Chennai FC is one of the favourites to win the Durand Cup, and it will be a tough test for the Army. However, the Army will be confident of getting a result after their draw against Delhi FC.
