Prabin Thapa Re-elected as Jhapa District Cricket Association President

Prabin Thapa has been re-elected as Jhapa District Cricket Association (JDCA) president for the second term unopposed. The general meeting of the JDCA was held on Wednesday at Kakarvitta.
Thapa, president of the JDCA since 2019, was the only candidate for the post. He was elected by acclamation.
Biru Shrestha was also re-elected as the vice president of the JDCA unopposed. Lakpa Lama was elected as the secretary, Treasurer Cholanath Dahal and Manoj Katuwal, Kanchan Upreti, Hiten Shrestha, Binit Bastola, Jivesh Oli, Tulsi Acharya, Yogendra Khadka, Amit Shrestha, Suresh Guragai, Himal Portel, and Narad Nepal were elected as the members of the 15-member district committee.
The JDCA also honoured national and international players and coaches on the day of the eighth general meeting and district convention.


In the program held under the chief Guest of Gopal Tamang, a Member of the State Assembly of Koshi Province, players Rubina Chhetri, Sabnam Rai, Kajal Shrestha, Sangita Rai, Lakita Rajbanshi, Ningma Tamang, Dipu Bhujel, Jyoti Darnal, and Roma Thapa were honoured and coaches Biru Shrestha and Lakpa Tamang were also observed.
Thapa expressed his gratitude to the members of the JDCA for re-electing him as the president. He said that he would work hard to develop cricket in Jhapa further.
He also said the JDCA would promote women’s cricket in the district. He noted that the JDCA would provide more opportunities for women to play cricket.
Thapa also said that the JDCA would work to improve the infrastructure for cricket in Jhapa. He noted that the JDCA would build more playable cricket grounds and improve the existing cricket grounds in the district.
He hoped that Jhapa would continue to produce national and international cricketers.
