Atletico Madrid got their La Liga season off to a winning start on Monday night, defeating Granada 3-1 at the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium.
Alvaro Morata opened the scoring for Atletico in injury time at the end of the first half before Samuel Omorodion equalized for Granada in the 62nd minute. Memphis Depay came off the bench to restore Atletico’s lead in the 68th minute, and Marcos Llorente added a third goal in stoppage time.
The win was a good start for Atletico, who are looking to challenge the La Liga title this season. Diego Simeone’s side hopes to build on this performance in their next match against Real Betis on Sunday.
