The Nepali Team announced for upcoming friendly match against Myanmar.

The Nepali national football team has announced a 23-member squad for the upcoming friendly match against Myanmar. The game will be played on September 8 and 11 in Yangon, Myanmar.

The squad is as follows:

  • Goalkeepers: Kiran Kumar Limbu, Abhishek Baral, Deep Karki
  • Defenders: Sanish Shrestha, Anant Tamang, Rohit Chand, Ashish Gurung, Tshering Lama, Anjan Rai
  • Midfielders: Eric Bista, Sudeep Gurung, Laken Limbu, Awas Lamichhane, Kritisharatna Chunju, Utsav Rai
  • Forwards: Ayush Ghalan, Navyug Shrestha, Anjan Bista, Manish Dangi, Ashish Chaudhary, Jellespijung Karki, Dinesh Henjan, Hisub Thapalia

Head coach Vicenzo Alberto Enes has included several new players in the squad, including Hisub Thapalia, who is making his debut for the national team.

The friendly matches against Myanmar are part of Nepal’s preparations for the preliminary round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. Nepal will face Laos in the preliminary round, with the first leg to be played on October 12 in Nepal and the second leg to be played on October 17 in Laos.

The Nepali team is currently ranked 175th in the FIFA rankings, while Myanmar is ranked 160th. The two teams have met 18 times, with Nepal winning four times, Myanmar winning eight times, and six matches ending in draws.

The friendly matches against Myanmar will allow the Nepali team to test their strength against a higher-ranked opponent. The team hopes to get good results and build momentum for the upcoming qualifiers.
