Nepali Cricketers Rewarded for Hitting Sixes Against India, Aim to Do Even Better in Future
The Inspire Noble Foundation has awarded two lakhs (200,000) rupees to Nepali cricketers Kushal Bhurtel and Sompal Kami for hitting sixes against India in the ACC Asia Cup.
The foundation had announced a cash prize of one lakh rupees for every player who hit a six against India in the tournament. Bhurtel and Kami hit two sixes against India, making them eligible for the total cash prize.
The awards were presented to Bhurtel and Kami at the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum headquarters on Thursday. The Inspire Noble Foundation representative handed over the cheques to the players in the presence of NSJF members.
Regmi said the foundation was proud to support Nepali cricketers and hoped the awards would encourage other players to perform well against India.
Bhurtel and Kami thanked the foundation for the awards and said they were motivated to do even better.
The Inspire Noble Foundation is an organization founded by non-resident Nepalis in America. It was established to support Nepali sports and culture.
Nepal finished bottom of their group in the tournament, but Bhurtel and Kami’s performances were among the few highlights for the team.
The awards to Bhurtel and Kami are a welcome boost for Nepali cricket. This shows that there is support for the sport in Nepal and that people are willing to reward good performances.
The awards will also encourage other Nepali cricketers to perform well in the future.
