Saudi Arabian Giants Al Nasr and Al Hilal Advance in King’s Cup

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Al Nassr and Al Hilal, two of the biggest clubs in Saudi Arabian football, advanced to the next round of the King’s Cup on Monday night despite resting their star players Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
Al Nasr cruised to a 5-1 victory over second-tier side Ohod, with Sadio Mane, Seko Fofana, Anderson Talisca, Ayman Ahmed, and Sami Al Najei all getting on the scoresheet. Konrad Michalak scored the consolation goal for Ohod.


Al Hilal also won 1-0 against Al Jabaline, with Ruven Neves scoring the decisive goal.
Coach Luis Castro rested Ronaldo against Ohod, with the Portuguese international focused on the upcoming Saudi Pro League clash with Al Ta’ee on September 29.


Al Hilal coach Ramon Diaz also rested Neymar against Al Jabaline, with the Brazilian superstar set to return to the lineup for the club’s next league match against Al Ittihad.
The results see Al Nassr and Al Hilal join fellow Saudi Pro League sides Al Shabab and Al Ittihad in the last 16 of the King’s Cup. The draw for the next round will take place on Tuesday.
