On the fifth day of the Apex ICC Cup 2023, the cricketing clash between Thames College and St. Xavier College took centre stage. In a strategic move, Thames College won the toss and opted to field, putting pressure on St. Xavier College. The result was 150 runs for St. Xavier College, with two wickets down in their allotted 20 overs. Rupesh Basyal’s exceptional batting skills earned him the well-deserved title of “Man of the Match.”

St. Xavier College swiftly countered with a dazzling display of bowling prowess. They restricted the Thames to 108 runs while grabbing seven wickets during their 20 overs; Xavier comfortably packed Thames before they achieved their target and won the match by a substantial margin of 42 runs.

In the day’s second exciting encounter, KCMIT chose to bat after winning the toss against Islington College. They posted a competitive score of 120 runs, losing nine wickets in their designated 20 overs. Islington College faced a resilient bowling attack from KCMIT, resulting in their team getting bowled out for 86 runs in just 15.5 overs. KCMIT emerged triumphant in this one-sided battle, securing victory by 34 runs. Subash Sapkota was adjudged Man of the Match for his excellent all-round performance.
