Manebhanjyang Gold Cup-BSC Jalpaiguri defeats Dharan 3-1 to enter the quarterfinals.
BSC Jalpaiguri got off to a winning start in the 7th Manebhanjyang Gold Cup, defeating Panwari FC Dharan 3-1 in the opening match to book their place in the quarterfinals. Stephen Samir scored a brace for Jalpaiguri, while Karan Rai added another. Padam Bhattarai scored a consolation goal for Dharan. All four goals came in the second half after the first half ended goalless. Both teams had a majority of players who had played in the Shahid Smarak A Division League.
BSC Jalpaiguri will now face the winner of the second pre-quarterfinal match between Red Horses Ilam and Chaand FC Tindhare in the quarterfinals. The tournament will run until October 15 (Asoj 28), with the winner receiving a prize of 8 lakhs (worth INR 5 lakhs) and the runner-up getting four lakhs (worth INR 2.5 lakh rupees). A total of 5 clubs from Nepal and 11 from India are participating in the tournament, which Manebhanjyang Football Club is organizing to promote international relations and sports culture through football.
