Nepal Starts Victoriously in CAVA Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup
Nepal started their campaign in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Challenge Cup on a winning note, defeating Bangladesh 3-1 in their opening match on Monday at Sugathadas Indoor Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Nepal won the first set 25-20 but lost the second set 19-25. However, they bounced back to win the following two sets, 25-23 and 25-21 to seal the victory.
Nepal’s Nirman Tamang was the top scorer for the team with 20 points, while Bangladesh’s Mohammad Shakil Alam was the leading scorer for his team with 15 points.
Nepal will now face host Sri Lanka in their second match on Tuesday.
Other Participating Teams
Along with Nepal and Bangladesh, other teams participating in the tournament are Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Uzbekistan.
